BuildersCount is a small, independent website. We make free calculators that tell you how much to buy for a building or garden job.

What we do

• We work out how many bags, yards or tonnes you need.
• We show every step of the maths, with your own numbers.
• We show where each number comes from, and when we checked it.
• We compare ways to buy, like bags or a truck, so you can pick the one that costs less.

Where our numbers come from

We use the maker's data sheet for things like how much one bag makes. We use prices from stores, suppliers, price lists and cost guides, and show the middle one. We list every source on the page. You can read more on How we work it out.

Who checks the pages

We check every page by hand before it goes live. We are not engineers. Our answers are a guide. For footings, driveways or anything that holds weight, check your local building rules or ask a builder or engineer.

How we pay for the site

The site is free to use. Later, ads will help pay for it. Ads will never change our numbers.

We are not linked to any brand

We name brands only to describe products, for example the size of a bag. We are not linked to any brand or store, and they do not pay us.
